Guarantee Do's & Don'ts
Our Guarantee To You
We take pride in the quality of our products and want to ensure your satisfaction. Our guarantee covers any defects in material or workmanship within one year from the date of purchase. However, it’s important to note that this guarantee does not cover faults caused by misuse.
Examples of such misuse include:
- Allowing the product to become soiled or unsanitary: This includes not taking proper care of the product to keep it clean and hygienic. For instance, exposure to bodily fluids, dirt, spills, or stains that aren't cleaned promptly can make the product unsanitary. This can cause the materials to break down or lead to the growth of bacteria and mold, all of which are considered misuse and will void the guarantee.
- Subjecting the product to excessive wear and tear: Mattresses and bed frames are designed for normal use under standard conditions. Excessive wear and tear can occur if the product is used improperly or too aggressively. This includes overuse without proper maintenance (like not rotating the mattress regularly), placing the mattress in unsuitable environments (e.g., too much moisture or exposure to extreme temperatures), or using the bed in a way that puts undue stress on the structure. Any actions that cause excessive damage to the product beyond normal usage will invalidate the guarantee.
- In the case of mattresses, using it with a base for which it was not designed: Mattresses are engineered to work with specific types of bed bases. Using a mattress on an unsuitable or old, worn-out base can compromise its support and lead to long-term damage. For example:
- Lack of support: A mattress needs a firm, even surface to perform at its best. Using a base that is too soft, sagging, or has inadequate slats can cause the mattress to lose its shape and fail prematurely.
- Old or broken bases: An old base that has broken slats, a sagging platform, or any structural issues can put the mattress at risk of becoming deformed or uncomfortable. An uneven surface, slats that are too far apart, or a base with other wear-related issues can lead to poor support for the mattress, causing it to sag unevenly or lose its integrity. Such problems may significantly affect the comfort and durability of the mattress and can cause permanent damage.
- Non-compatible bases: Some mattresses, such as pocket sprung mattresses, require specific types of bases (e.g., a solid or slatted base with slats positioned closely together) to provide proper support. Using a mattress on an incompatible base, such as one with too wide a gap between slats or an unsupportive frame, can result in uneven wear and discomfort, potentially voiding your guarantee.
Natural Settlement of Fillings
It is normal for a new mattress to show evidence of settlement over time. Due to the large amount of high-quality upholstery used in today’s mattresses, you may notice body impressions on the mattress surface, particularly around areas like the hips and shoulders. These impressions are a natural and expected result of the filling settling over time, even with regular turning. This process does not indicate a fault and is a normal characteristic of high-quality mattresses.
Getting Used to Your New Bed
Chances are, the springs and upholstery in your old bed were no longer in the same condition as when you first bought them. Because of this, your new bed may feel different at first. This is completely normal! Allow some time for your body to adjust to the new bed, and for the fillings to settle. It's important to note that the new materials in your mattress need some time to conform to your sleeping habits, so don’t be alarmed if it feels a little strange initially. Give yourself and your mattress a few weeks to adjust before making any judgments.
Do’s & Don’ts
Do:
- Turn your mattress regularly: To maintain the longevity of your mattress, turn it regularly to allow the fillings to settle evenly.
- For double-sided mattresses: Turn and rotate every week for the first three months and every month thereafter. This will help the fillings settle evenly, resulting in a longer mattress life.
- For non-turn mattresses: Rotate your mattress from head to foot every week for the first three months, and continue this monthly rotation thereafter. This will also help ensure even wear and enhance the lifespan of your mattress.
- Use a mattress protector: We strongly recommend using a mattress protector to keep your mattress clean and free from accidental soiling. Not only does this help maintain hygiene, but it also ensures that your guarantee remains valid. (Please contact us for details and pricing.)
Don't:
- Use detergents or chemical cleaners: These products can have a damaging effect on the materials, cover, and fillings used in your mattress. Stick to gentle cleaning methods and spot cleaning if necessary.
- Bend, fold, or roll your mattress: Never bend, fold, or roll your new mattress, as this can cause permanent damage to the internal structure and invalidate the warranty. Always transport your mattress flat to ensure it stays in optimal condition.
- Place mattresses on an old or unsuitable base: Placing your new mattress on an old, sagging, or mismatched base may cause irreparable damage to the mattress and will void the guarantee. Ensure the base you use is in good condition and suitable for the type of mattress you have purchased.
